Gustavian and Swedish Antique Chairs
Dating back to the 1700's, Sweden has a wonderful variety of chairs in country rustic and city styles.
The Gustavian period included a number of chair styles that we still see today including Ax, Bellman, Leksand, Farmers Rococo, Swedish Louis xvi, Rose. Gripsholm, and more.
The 1800s chairs were handmade, upholstered with horse hair and featured wooden lugs holding the parts together.
Carver Chairs have padded backs and be ornately carved with gold gilt trimming.
